2010 Annual Charity Fundraiser
"A Tribute to the Majesty of Thoroughbreds"
After the Finish Line presents their 2010 Annual Charity Fundraiser, "A Tribute to the Majesty of Thoroughbreds" on August 5th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Hilton Hotel in Del Mar, CA. Our fundraiser will be held across the street from the Del Mar race track. We will host a reception, silent and live auctions & dinner. This is our major fundraiser of the year, hosted during the Del Mar race meet to raise awareness for Thoroughbred ex-racehorses. Our past attendees included Thoroughbred owners, trainers and breeders, racetrack announcers, jockeys, fans, those who own ex-racehorses and those who care about the welfare of the Thoroughbreds. I hope you can attend as well. If you can't attend, please consider making a donation for the horses.
After the Finish Line is a 501 (c) 3 funding non-profit dedicted to saving, rehabilitating and caring for rescued Thoroughbred horses who can no longer race or breed. These horses may be injured, too slow to win or not producing quality foals. ATFL awards monthly emergency funds and yearly grants to qualified rescued organizations throughout the United States.
The Thoroughbreds give their fans so much excitement when they race. These talented animals deserve the opportunity to transition and excel in second careers such as hunter/jumpers, dressage, trail, therapy or companion horses. Please join our efforts to ensure the welfare of the Thoroughbreds and give the gift of life to an animal that is less fortunate.

Equine Designs™ by After the Finish Line
Let After the Finish Line "paint" with your horse(s)! Your horse will create a colorful, one of a kind masterpiece. What a wonderful experience and cherished painting for the horse’s owner. We named these paintings Equine Designs™. To learn more or make an appointment to paint, please contact Dawn Mellen at dawn@afterthefinishline.org. (Currently limited to Southern Calif.) These paintings will certainly be a conversation piece in your home or office. They are unique Holiday presents, special occasion presents or a personal present for you.
After the Finish Line will come to your home or barn to paint with your horse(s). Your horse may choose up to four paint colors. The painting can include a hoof print and tail hair tied with ribbon. Put your horses painting in a matte measuring approximately 16" x 20" and then frame!
After the Finish Line is a San Diego based 501 (C) (3) funding non-profit for Thoroughbred horses that can no longer race or breed. The proceeds from Equine Designs™ will allow us to award yearly grants and monthly emergency funds for rescued Thoroughbreds in California and across the United States. They should not be forgotten in their time of need. Board members are volunteers and do not receive a salary. Equine Designs™ lets horses help horses and are the gifts that help deserving ex-racehorses and broodmares transition into second careers such as hunter/jumpers, dressage, polo, trail, companion or therapy horses.
